CRIMINAL
RECORDS

A record label, run from a prison cell. The music is real. The risk is fatal.

The premise

Jacob Price built a music empire and lost all of it to fifteen years inside Lompoc Federal. The one thing the sentence couldn’t touch was his ear. Behind the walls he hears the best voices of his life, and starts a label from his cell, recording in the chapel and the yard, uploading in the dark.

The world calls them the Ghosts of Lompoc. Nobody knows their faces. Everybody knows their songs. As the anonymous group explodes into a global sensation, the line between exploitation and rescue gets harder to find, and the people who put their freedom on the line to make this music have to decide who they’re really doing it for.

Read the opening

The first chapter is on the house.

The first time Jacob Price heard Dante Brooks sing, he was on his knees scrubbing the chow hall floor, and he forgot how to breathe.

Fifteen years he’d sold other people’s voices. Built an empire on the sound of someone else’s gift. And here, under fluorescent light and the smell of bleach, was a voice that could have filled stadiums, wasting itself on a hymn nobody was meant to hear.

Price set the mop down. He had nothing left to lose, and one thing left he was still the best in the world at. He started doing the math.

Read it where it lives.

The first chapters are free. The full serial, plus the album, lives inside The Library, along with every other world Sean has built.
